At the end of a Derelict Freighter you get 3 reward options at the final terminal: an Upgrade Module, Nanites or a Cargo Bulkhead. As for warp range, I can only speak on my behalf. I have one of each type of engine installed in a maxed out s-class dreadnought and have a range of just over 3,000 LY.

What no one has mentioned yet is the tech upgrades you get from derelict freighter missions are class locked by system. What that means is if you do a derelict freighter mission in a system and you get a B-class tech upgrade, while it's random which tech upgrade you'll get (i.e. fuel efficiency, hyperdrive, combat, exploration, mining, trading), you'll only ever see them as B-class.
