Jul 28, 2020. #7. The DGT has a whammy, the 594 doesn’t, so that may influence your decision. The 594 seems like the closest PRS has gotten to a vintage Gibson while the DGT is really its own thing. If I could craft my perfect guitar, I would have the DGT with a 594 neck, since I find the DGT neck a little skinny for my tastes.

Gibson has been doing this off/on since the 70’s. the main benefit is maple tends to be stiffer, making the neck less prone to warpage and having the headstock snap off. It is also more readily available than mahogany. gibson is notorious for quietly putting out a small batch of a randomly spec’d guitar.

Dec 20, 2019. #19. The more I read this thread the more I think the haters are pissed because they want a $1300 guitar for $299 just because the original Harmony guitars were cheap. I assume Supro, Airline, Silvertone and others fit into that ideology but from the looks of it, the current Harmony does not.
There are a few things to consider. 1. Your presets need to be dialed in for the amp and cab. Taking one that was dialed in for FRFR and running it into an amp and cab is not ideal. 2. The power amp does make a difference.
