Jul 22, 2022 · You need to put the handle in near full reverse, and a slot is revealed on the bottom of the control handle. It takes an allen wrench. Once the handle is off, the trim panels will come off and the mounting screws are revealed. On my '88 SR, the throttle-only button would pop out revealing a nut holding the throttle handle on. The control has to be removed to disconnect the control cable. There is a picture of the control. Ok you have the screws out it will come out of the hole. You will have to rotate the throttle handle forward or reverse to get the control out. They are a tight fit and you have to fanagle the control out.
